History
Olivia and Liam met in college. Liam was going to school for a degree in Mathematics, and Olivia was going for forensics. They had a typical relationship, and eventually they got married. Olivia was thirty when she had their oldest son Troian. By that time, they were living comfortably. Olivia worked for a local police department and Liam worked for the local college as a math professor. They raised their son on a strict schedule. Wake up at six, school by eight, dinner at five, bed at eight. If he ever acted out, he was sent to time out and then talked to about why he got in trouble.
When Troi was four, his little brother Nathaniel was born. Their lives didn’t change much. They were raised to believe that their schooling was the most important and got in trouble as often as their parents could find something wrong. Nathaniel always kept his parents running around, chasing after the little trouble maker, so Troi was often left alone to do whatever he wanted. He would often go in their backyard with the family dog, pretending to scavenge for dinosaur bones.
When Troi was nine, his life changed forever. He was forced to grow up, to take care of not only himself, but his brother as well. Things were going great until one day at school, police burst into his classroom and took him from the class, escorting him to the principal’s office where his little brother was sitting, crying and shaking. Troi held his little brother as the cops escorted them to the precinct. Their mom and dad were sitting in separate rooms, both arguing with different detectives. A kind social worker was there to take care of the kids while the situation got straightened out. He bought them dinner, played with them, etc.
A few hours later, their mom came to talk to them. They were instantly hugging and crying with their mom. They were scared; they had no idea what had happened while they were at school. Turns out, their father had found out that their mom was having an affair and killed the boyfriend. Their dad was in jail for a few years before the trial came up. By the time the trial came around, Troi was old enough to understand what had happened, what had really gone down. Their mom never let them visit their father.
Troi began resenting his mother for taking his father out of their life with adultery. He didn’t blame his father. He didn’t understand how someone could cheat on someone they loved. He felt that he probably would’ve acted the same way his father did. After the trial, his mother moved the small, fatherless family to New York to start over. Troi began acting out more in high school. He would try and give his mother a hard time. He felt that she needed punished for what she did. He often took care of his little brother while his mom worked long hours. And as soon as Troi was eighteen, he made a trip back to Washington to visit his father.
He began writing to his father, getting the letters finally. He went to NYU for college, and he went on a few semesters abroad in Egypt and Africa. In Africa, he slipped down into a hole one day, and he broke his leg pretty bad. The bone was exposed and blood was everywhere. He had been alone, and when they finally found him, it had been a few hours. They got him out as quickly as possible, but the medical treatment he had received had not been sterile. He got flesh eating bacteria, and they ended up having to amputate his leg to save his life. That’s when he went back to the States.
As soon as his brother was eighteen, he let him move in with him in his small apartment. He knew his brother didn’t like their mom either. They both went to visit their father on his brother’s eighteenth birthday, and they’ve been living together ever since.
Troi got a job offer in Chile, and Nate decided to go with him.

After the Crash
Friends: Probably a few | Enemies: Possibly |
Troi has been sticking near the people. He's the first one to volunteer to go into the jungle and get food. He goes out on his own sometimes to see if he can find ancient bones or basically anything that can soothe his craving for the unknown.
